VVC™ Sandals – From Furniture Craft to Handcrafted Footwear

Sometimes a product is not planned. It grows.
When we started creating our own furniture, the focus was on quality without compromise. One of our first signature pieces was an extra-large sofa, entirely handmade and covered with the finest leather. The craftsmanship was precise, the material exceptional — and yet, after cutting the large panels, beautiful side pieces of leather remained.
We looked at them and thought: this cannot go to waste.

What began as simple curiosity turned into creative play. We experimented with the leftover leather parts that had been cut from the sides of our sofa. While handling the material, shaping it, folding it, the idea slowly emerged — what if this leather could become shoes?
From Sofa Leather to Sandal Design
We approached a local factory and began developing designs together. It was a collaborative process: sketching, cutting, adjusting proportions, refining strap placement. The first prototype — a simple dummy sandal — was tested the only way that truly matters: by wearing it all day.
And not just anywhere.
We walked through the beautiful souks of Marrakech in Morocco — one of the most impressive markets I have ever visited in my life. The narrow alleys, the textures, the movement, the heat, the dust — the perfect real-life testing ground.
After exchanging several design ideas and improving the fit and balance, the final result was born.
Our first VVC™ sandal collection launched in 2023.
Handmade Beige Cowhide Leather Sandals by VVC™
Crafted in Morocco using premium natural cowhide leather, these sandals represent the essence of our journey from furniture craftsmanship to wearable design.
The soft beige tone sandal, for example, with its natural fur finish gives each pair a refined yet organic character. No two pieces are identical — the texture remains authentic, as nature intended.
Designed for women who value comfort with a designer edge, the sandals combine understated luxury with everyday functionality.
The non-slip rubber sole with anti-slip coating ensures confident movement throughout the day, whether walking through city streets, coastal promenades, or summer markets. With a lightweight profile of approximately 300g per pair, they are ideal for everyday wear, resort fashion, or relaxed chic styling.
Design Your Own VVC™ Sandal – Exclusive in Sitia
At our VVC Shop in Sitia, we added something playful and personal to the collection.
Alongside our natural cowhide designs, we offer colourful handprinted additions that are finished within approximately 30 minutes. You choose the accents. You shape the character. Your sandal becomes a personal statement.
We introduced vibrant highlights in:
Sunny yellow
Neon green
Neon orange
Deep red wine Bordeaux
A typical Greek turquoise inspired by the Aegean
Each colour is carefully applied and finished by hand, allowing you to create a unique pair while you wait. The process transforms the sandal from a refined neutral base into an expressive summer piece — subtle or bold, depending on your mood.
This element reflects another core idea behind VVC™: design should not be distant. It should be participatory, creative and joyful.
From handcrafted sofa leather to Moroccan production, and finally to your personalised finishing touch in Sitia — every pair carries layers of story, craft and individuality.
Available exclusively at VVC Shop Sitia — your curated slow fashion destination in Crete — and online in limited quantities.
