VVC × Glacier Sport Zermatt – When Mountain Meets Beach
For our creative client Glacier Sport Zermatt, we developed a bold and unexpected B2B business giveaway:
The Mountain Beach Bag.
The concept? A handcrafted VVC raffia basket as a corporate gift for clients receiving personalised ski boot fitting at Glacier Sport Zermatt – the ultimate destination in Switzerland to rent the latest ski equipment for your next snow adventure.
Anyone who has ever skied for the first time knows this truth: nothing transforms your experience more than a ski boot that fits your foot like a second skin. Owner Basti and his team specialise in individual boot fitting that guarantees maximum comfort, safety and full support for confident downhill runs.
To make this collaboration truly personal, we designed premium leather labels in close cooperation with Glacier Sport Zermatt. Multiple layout variations were developed and refined together before final approval. After confirmation, the labels were produced in Germany from premium leather.
Each logo was then hand-stitched within one day in Sitia, Crete by the VVC tailor team onto our signature baskets — entirely handmade from natural raffia palm leaves and finished with shimmering sequins for durability and character.
For functionality, we developed an integrated protective drawstring inlet, allowing the perfectly fitted ski boots to be safely placed inside the basket. The colourful designs reflect the vibrant ski boot combinations available at Glacier Sport Zermatt.
And the story does not end on the mountain.
After a long day in the snow, the basket transitions effortlessly into beach life — perfect for towels and swimwear. It becomes a year-round companion: from local fish markets to everyday supermarket visits.
Each time it is carried, it quietly recalls a holiday moment — the crisp mountain air, the thrill of the slopes, the unforgettable view of the Matterhorn.
The VVC baskets are not sold in Zermatt.
They are exclusively available as a complimentary gift with your personalised ski boot fitting at Glacier Sport Zermatt.

From Crete to Zermatt – A Handmade Journey
Shipping from Crete to Switzerland came with its own small challenges. Not paperwork or customs — those are fully under control. Logistics is part of our DNA.
The real story lies in the journey itself.
From Sitia in Eastern Crete, we prefer to depart with small vans. The streets in the historic downtown area are narrow, and large trucks simply cannot enter. Every shipment begins carefully — adapted to the rhythm and structure of a small Mediterranean port town.
Then comes Zermatt.
A place where no conventional cars or trucks are allowed inside the protected village area. Only electric vehicles and e-bikes may enter. And so the final mile becomes personal.
Basti himself handles pick-ups and deliveries by e-bike, pulling a small trailer behind him through the alpine streets. A modern mountain solution for a handcrafted Mediterranean product.
Freight companies typically require palletised goods for standardised truck and warehouse handling. But thanks to our trusted logistics network, every partner along the route — from Door Sitia to Door Zermatt — supported our mission to keep the baskets handled with care.
